Truro & Colchester Chamber of Commerce Highlights Importance of Business Representation in RECC Governance

Truro, NS — The Truro & Colchester Chamber of Commerce, is emphasizing the importance of continued business community representation within the governance structure of the Central Nova Scotia Civic Centre Society.

The Rath Eastlink Community Centre (RECC) plays a significant role in the regional economy, supporting local businesses, tourism activity, employment, and community events. As governance structures continue to evolve, Chamber members consistently highlight the value of ensuring that business leaders and members of the business community have a voice within governance and board-level decision-making.

Strong alignment between municipal partners, community organizations, and the business community contributes to economic confidence and long-term regional success. Including business perspectives at the governance level helps ensure that economic considerations are reflected in decisions that impact the broader community.

“The RECC is an important asset for our region and a meaningful economic driver for many local businesses,” said Jeremy Nichols, President of the Truro & Colchester Chamber of Commerce. “Ensuring that business leaders have representation within its governance structure supports alignment, collaboration, and the long-term success of both the facility and the broader community.”

“The Chamber’s role is to represent the voice of business,” said Lexie Jasiewicz, Executive Director of the Truro & Colchester Chamber of Commerce. “Our business community consistently emphasize that when economic perspectives are included in governance discussions, it strengthens decision-making and contributes to a more resilient and prosperous region.”

The Chamber remains focused on advocating for conditions that support a strong, sustainable regional economy and continued collaboration among key community partners.
