Truro and Colchester Chamber of Commerce receives re-accreditation

Since 2012 the Truro & Colchester Chamber of Commerce has promoted a “Live Local” campaign in the community. A committee of Chamber members, along with several stakeholders in the community, determined ways to encourage people to spend money at businesses located in the Truro/Colchester region, rather than having that money leave the community. Various studies and surveys have shown that many in the local area are choosing to spend their money in outside communities or online (outside the region), which means nothing is returned to the local economy. Even a small shift in shopping habits would mean more money in the local economy, more jobs and businesses would be better equipped to support local charities, sports teams, events, etc.
Explore Central is a collaborative project spearheaded by the Truro & Colchester Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Downtown Truro Partnership, Municipality of the County of Colchester, Town of Truro, Town of Stewiacke, and Millbrook Heritage & Cultural Centre.
The goal of this project is to promote the Central Nova Scotia region to locals and tourists from within Nova Scotia and the Atlantic Provinces.
